Related to that, since the opening of the National Selection of State University Entrance (SNMPTN), the freshmen enrollment (Maba) academic year 2014/2015 in early February at Alauddin State Islamic University (UIN Alauddin) Makassar has had as many as 4450 applicants through that line, Monday (03/10/2014 ). Prior to the registration opening, there should fulfill the School and Student Data Base (PDSS) which has been open since 6 January. SNMPTN itself is a selection line followed by 62 state universities in a system that is integrated and implemented simultaneously through student achievement networking. Universities as education providers of after high school and so-equal receive student candidates with high academic achievement and expected to successfully complete the study in the university based on the academic achievement and consistently demonstrate their achievement to deserve getting a chance to be the freshman candidates at the State University (PTN). Dra. Hj. Masnawati MM., the head of Academic Department of UIN Alauddin Makassar, stated that SNMPTN implementation costs were trusted by the government so that participants would not be charged for registration fee. "The participants who are from economically disadvantaged and have high academic achievement as well as have been passed in the state university will receive scholarships during the study period in accordance with the provisions of PTN through ‘Bidikmisi’ program" she said when met her in academic department room. Based on the current preliminary calculation results by the academic department staff, UIN Alauddin has already had 4450 freshmen candidates who register through the lines including the first and second selected PTN. The most favored department at UIN Alauddin is Pharmacy Department which has reached till 504 registrants, and followed by the Public Health Department which has as many as 478, and then Nursing Department that reaches 433 applicants. Masnawati further added that the quota provided for this year was 5000 freshmen candidates, so the selection process should be implemented as well as possible. The SNMPTN registration line process will run until March 31, 2014, and the selection will be held on April 1 to May 26, and the announcement of the selection results will be announced on May 27, 2014.
